Week 2 reflection- Role of Technology & Media in Education

For this week we looked at the Role of Technology & Media in Education. They are:

There are six (6) categories of Media:
1. Videos
2. Visual
3. Text
4. People
5. Audio
6. Manipulatives (objects)

I did not know that People were a type of media, so that is something I learnt this week.

Week 1. Learning, learning styles, multiple Intelligence and learning theories.

Mrs. Roberts gave us her definition of learning which is is "Learning is a permanent change in knowledge skills and attitudes based on lfe-long learning experiences."

Give Research Definition-
There are seven (7) learning styles:

1. Visual
2. Aural
3. Kinesthetic
4. Logical
5. Socoal
6. Solitary
7. Read & Write

During class I learnt the difference between the three (3) main learning styles which are: 

1. Visual- this uses pictures, images & spatial understanding.

2. Aural- sound & music are used.

3. Kinesthetic- This is where you use your body, hands & sense of touch.

We looked at nine (9) types of Multiple Intelligences:

 1. Naturalist

2. Musical

3. Logical- Mathematical

4. Existential

5. Interpersonal 

6. Bodily- Kinesthetic 

7. Linguistic

8. Intra-personal 

9. Spatial 

I learnt that my learning style is a mixture between visual/ spatial and interpersonal.

There are also Four (4) theories of learning:

1. Behaviorism

2. Constructivism

3. Cognitivism

4. Social- Psychology

My thoughts on learning is that it is the way you retrieve and process information in a way that benefits and changes you physically and mentally. Learning is continuous.
